Just Closed on a Home Loan?

| Posted in Bank Blogs

Read on to see what you should be watching for to keep yourself safe from these common scams, now that you have closed on your home.

  • Deed Scams. Wait for the Title Company you worked with to send you the original deed from your home closing. Do NOT pay for a copy from any mailing- those are a scam to “cheat” you out of $50-75.
  • Home Warranty Scams. The sale of your house is public record. They can even see the exact dollar amount the house sold for and the bank you worked with. Do not give out your personal information on these forms- they are a scam to get a hold of your personal information.

When you know what to look for you can better protect yourself, family, finances, and new home. You can always reach out to us if are not sure if something is a scam or not.
